yeah it is stupid

I doubt they do that anymore. It was a two season tryout and none of the fans really thought it was fair. It does make the All-star game a little more competitive. I would rather watch a meaningful game than a bunch of over paid pre-madonnas showing face for the fans. earning another 100,000 dollar bonus.

No, it’s not fair. I know they did it to make the All-Star Game mean something (after the fiasco that ended in a tie), but I agree that they need to find another way to do that.

No it’s not fair that the winner of one game has home field advantage in the World Series. Usually the team with home field advantage is the American League because they usually have the better League. The team with home field advantage should be the team with the best overall record. The All-Star game should just be a game for bragging rights, if not just for fun.

Yes it is dumb. They should make it more interesting in other ways. To hinge homefield advantage on players who may very well have no interest whatsoever it stupid. Plus, the managers of the teams can manage the game in a way so that they will either win or lose homefield.

Yeah its not a very good rule. The All-Star BREAK is supposed to be a BREAK for the players. I think home field advantage should be decided by the teams record.

Is playing the All-Star game for home field advantage fair?
I have to disagree with this stupid idea they came up with just to make the All-Star game seem more important. For example: 2004 World Series Boston vs. St. Louis. I know St. Louis blew it but is it fair that Boston had home field advantage over St. Louis? Just because of the outcome of one game which really had nothing to do with the actual season at hand. How does a wild card team get home field advantage over the team who had the best record in all of baseball? It’s just stupid, I think! Home field advantage should go to the team with the better record, simple as that! Find some other way to get people psyched about the all-star game.
