ASPCA has always taken care of animals.

PETA usually ends up doing something that causes animals to suffer from long painful deaths.

I would help out the ASPCA.
References :
If you want to help animals you can do some of the following:

1.Don't by products tested on animals.
2.Help a cause that helps endangered animals.
3.Adopt an abandoned animal.
4.If you can't get your own pet you can volunteer at an animal shelter.

Also alot of people say it's wrong to eat meat. It's not! Don't let any body tell you it is! Animals in the wild eat other weaker animals, so why can't we! Humans are just animals after all we (every living thing) all need oxygen, food, water and shelter to survive! If animals could talk and you told a cheetah that eating meat was bad it would just laugh at you then probaly eat you too. It's a part of Nature!! Don't let anyone tell you other wise.

Some say that our sluather methends are painful for the animal, how may i ask is that different then a tiger or wolf or any thing else riping out another animals throat or clawing them to death?!!!!
References :
Sounds like you are pleaing for others to join the battle against animal cruelty?- to put it simply, animal abuse is a social disease- humans must work in concert to eliminate all injustices visted upon animals and that means taking them out of the food equation- many people disagree with animal cruelty but have little conscience about the food they eat- our slaughter methods are still so far from humane- people as a whole need to walk their talk- if they are opposed to animal cruelty but still continue their coarnivorous diet- than they are sending the message that its okay because cows, for exsample, are bred for food- "so then its okay to fight dogs cause they are bred to fight" another will argue- but we know that this isn't right- we know and we still continue to eat meat- if any of them had the chance to care for a calf, they would discover that even cows have the capacity for love- but people are too busy pandering to their appetites to stop and ask themselves "What is this on my plate?" "What did this life have to endure so that I may have the luxery of eating meat?"- and many will argue that there is a need for protien- which I agree- but not for the protein that is in the meat- All one can do is be an example for others to follow- if you are opposed to animal cruetly, walk your talk- go vegan- send the message that animal cruelty should not be tolerated- not for food - not for the sake of science- not for the sake of beauty- nothing justifies animal suffering or cruelty- NOTHING!- Gandi said " The progress of a nation can be judged by the way it treats thier animals"- for all the gloating we do about how civilized we have become - we really haven't come very far-
References :
This is so true. All we can do is keep trying to teach people to understand animals a little more.

Even the most knowledgeable people don't understand.

I had a bad experience with Animal control killing my friends dogs.
on two different occasions, 3 dogs shot and killed and one left for dead. He lived luckily, they surgical removed a bullet out of his head it was stuck in his skull. only 4 months old when it happened.
The reason they did this was that they believed they might hurt some sheep in a pasture they got into. And not all dog attack sheep. especially a 4 month old puppy.

There's like hundreds of different groups in different countries that deal with animal welfare, plus government legalisation. All you can do to protect animal rights- though it's more animal WELFARE, not rights- is join these groups, and donate time/money/objects to shelters etc. I would say there's even more animal charities than there are humans'! So I don't know why you're acting like /no-one/ does it. Open your eyes.
References :
What is the best way to protect animal rights?
Unlike humans, animals can't express their feelings. All they can do is retaliate when they are scared or provoked and in most cases they have to pay a heavy price. Who will fight for them if humans don't on whom they are so dependent?
