I have a swiss army knife that is old and makes my hand smell i would like to clean it..how do i clean it?
i herd boiling it works but i will oil it too any other suggestions?

Don’t boil it, this may cause the handle scales to separate from the knife. Put some dish soap in the sink with hot water, and if you have an old tooth brush use it to scrub the knife where ever you can reach, otherwise just swish it around really good. Then rinse it with the hot running water, the hottest possible. Let it air dry, then apply your oil to the base of the blades, and open and close them a few times. Wipe off any excess oil.

I agree with bigjfry. And, I like oil a lot. It has amazing penetrating powers. Use something light like 3-in-one oil or sewing machine oil. Open the blades half way. Put some oil in at the hinge ends. Also on the back where the blade springs will be up a little since the blades are half open. Let it sit overnight. Work the blades a little. Then get into the crevices and along the raised springs with a paper towel on your fingernail. You will be surprised how much stuff was in there. But, you are not done. Repeat a few more times until you stop getting stinky brown stuff out of the mechanism. Good luck, a good knife is something worth taking care of.
