What useful items should you bring to your college dorm room?
I’m a college freshman (YES!!!!!!!). Truthfully, I have no idea what to bring to my dorm room! What are some useful items to bring that one normally wouldn’t think of? Thanks, all answers are welcome.

A fireproof and waterproof lockbox for documents, jewelry, cash, and other valuables, medicines you may need, and an emergency kit with a flashlight. And a copy of your health insurance cards. And if you leave your room for an extended time, put a plastic bag or cover over your laptop. The sprinklers went off in my sisters building on a weekend when she was home visiting, and thankfully her laptop didn’t get ruined because she brought it with her, but a lot of her friends had to get new ones. You never know what kind of idiot will manage to set off the fire alarms.

Snack foods (but also have things like apples and bananas)
Toiletries, and a lot of them
A lock box
Microwave
TV
Books
Mini fridge

Those are basically your essentials. But keep in mind that not only are you studying in your dorm room, you’re LIVING in it! So bring what you like, such as magazines, movies, maybe a video game consul, etc.
