Can you please help me with my Harry Potter fanfiction story?
In my story I’m going to have some of the characters be Animagi. I need your opinion on which would work better for certain characters. I’ll also be including my reasoning for all the characters. So, here they are.

Harry – I was thinking of making him a Phoenix, but that seems cliche to me. Because so many others have done it. I might make him a dragon but I’m not to fond of that idea either. Whatever I make Harry has to fly though.

Ron – I’m pretty sure he’ll be a crup. They’re like a more dangerous type of dog. I think it works well because of the obvious similarities between him and Sirius. Except Ron’s is in more danger growing up so he should be a more dangerous animal.

Hermione – I was think about making her a Kneazle. She defiantly needs to be a smart animal that does not fly. So that made me get rid of an owl or an eagle. Also, this would give a good reason to why she bought Crookshanks and has a bond with him. (Is Crookshanks a him? It sounds like it but I’m not sure.)

Neville – He’s a lion. I’m just choosing this one because it shows how Neville is brave on the inside. Also, I’m going to have a part in the story where Neville is having trouble transforming because he can’t totally embrace his inner animal.

Luna – I need something unusual for Luna. So, I went through my copy of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and found a beast called a Demiguise. You can see what is at this link. http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Demiguise

Ginny – Here’s the one I really can’t decide on. I think she should either be a Hippogriff or a type of Dragon found at this link. http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Antipodean_Opaleye Both are proud and dangerous. They also both fly. But I’m not sure if I should go with the dragon and lead toward Ginny’s fiery nature or the Hippogriff and make her more proud Gryffindor nature.

Fred and George – They are, at this time, going to be twin cheetahs. But really the only reasoning I got for this one is that, if two cheetahs are brothers they’ll almost always stay together for life. They’re still going to have the small differences in their personalities though. If you have a better idea please tell me.

I’m also going to make Remus be able to transform into a wolf at will though he’ll still be forced into the werewolf at the full moon. He also won’t be in control with others help or the potion.

I also need Snape to be something. So, I’m leaning towards a black eagle.

So, what do you think? Are there any better options that I’m missing?

As for Harry, you could make him a stag, like his Patronus, but that also seems cliche.

For Ron, I like that idea, and I agree with your point about him resembling Sirius.

For Hermione, I think a Kneazle works well, and it would intervene with her bond with Crookshanks.

For Neville, I think that a lion would be unfitting, as it appears fierce on the outside, while Neville does not, despite the fact that personality-wise, they are similar. However, I do like your idea about difficulty with embracing his inner animal.

For Luna, I honestly don’t know. I imagine Luna being a vegetarian, in my own mind, so the Demiguise would suit that theory, as well as the peacefulness.

For Ginny, I prefer the dragon idea.

For Fred and George, I like the idea about cheetah brothers being together for life, but a cheetah doesn’t seem fitting for them personality-wise. Cheetahs are generally seen as fierce, fast, etc. I think a type of monkey would suit them, as monkeys are generally seen as playful jokesters. However, that would remind me greatly of Curious George, haha.

For Remus, that idea seems alright, but I think an animal with a more… locked up personality would suffice as well.

For Snape, I think something intelligent and almost fatherly would work. Something mysterious, I suppose, but I can’t think of anything.

You’ve got some pretty good ideas going there.

I suggest Harry could be the bird Merlin. or a Falcon. ( ahaha. merlin. )
